I'm Anna (that's "An-uh" :) ),  a *soon to be* graduate of  NYU Steinhardt, with a degree in Vocal Performance: Musical Theater.

Where I started...

My music journey started a little later in life than most others in this field. I joined a local show choir in 5th grade where I learned how to sing in an ensemble, sing close harmonies, and quickly pick up music. After a year of singing terribly, my mother signed me up for voice lessons, where I would get training in the classical sphere. I mainly sang art songs and arias, but was allowed to do legit-styled and some mixy musical theater songs in the summer only. It was not until my sophomore year of high school that I decided to pursue musical theater or music as a profession. I took a month-long summer program in NYC, and by the end, I was dead set on it! The commitment to the craft, the collaboration in classes, and the uniqueness of the theater community made me feel like I finally belonged somewhere. That very next school year, I switched schools to have access to a theater club and never looked back.

What I trained in/ What I love...

Even with my background in legit-style singing, I am quite comfortable with mix/belting and stylizing. Over my four years at Steinhardt, I have found a love for jazz stylings that I continue to mess around with in my free time. Speaking of free time, when I am not somehow involved in a piece of theater (click on tech world to see more), you would most likely find me in my apartment, snuggled up in a blanket, reading a book or watching cat grooming videos while I play video games.
